Fund Restriction
The income from which, or such portion of the income as in the discretion of the Hwaiyuan Station [specific Station’s no longer exist] may be needed, shall be used for the equipment, maintenance or other expenses of or in connection with the Boys’ School at Hwaiyuan Station, China; the remainder of the income, if any, to be used in other work of the Hwaiyuan Station. It is further agreed that if for any reason the Board [Coemar], in consultation with Hwaiyuan Station, shall decide that the income from the said fund is no longer necessary for the support of the Boys’ School or the other work of the Hwaiyuan Station, after conference with the Board of Trustees of the Central Presbyterian Church, New York [left the PCUSA in 2013], and with Mr. Van Santvoord Merle-Smith, if surviving, or other members of Mrs. Zaidee V. S. Merle-Smith’s family [documentation from 1973 states they were unable to locate any living family members], it shall be free to use the income in its work elsewhere in such a way as it believed would be acceptable to the donor.
