Restricción de fondosIn Trust nevertheless to, for and upon the special uses and purposes following, that is to say: In Trust to invest and keep invested the same in safe and productive securities such as are recognized and authorized by the laws of Pennsylvania as proper and legal for the investment of trust funds And the net interest, income and dividends thereof, when and as received to pay over to the Treasurer for the time being of the said Presbyterian Board of Publication to be appropriated and applied under the direction and by the authority of said Board to the distinctively benevolent and missionary work of said Board, that is to say, to the payment of the necessary compensation and expenses of missionaries actually employed by said Board upon the field in the prosecution of its missionary work, and to the gratuitous distribution of the publications of said Board. Provided nevertheless that it shall and may be lawful for said Board to appropriate and apply not exceeding one third of the net income of said Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) in any one year for the purpose of enabling them to publish and issue such works of sound moral and religious character and within the scope of the purposes for which said Board was established or which may hereafter be approved by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America as said Board may determine upon and select at lower prices or in a better and more attractive form, either by providing and procuring stereotype plates for the same, or maps and illustrations therefore: (the cost of such stereotype plates and maps and illustrations so provided to be excluded from the computation of the cost of such works in fixing the prices thereof) or towards publishing or issuing special editions of works of a standard religious character; or in such other manner as said Board may think expedient and determine. It being the intention, that the sums so appropriated and applied shall actually reduce the selling prices of the works upon which they are expended from what they would otherwise be fixed at upon the ordinary basis for fixing prices in use from time to time by the Board. Provided always nevertheless, and this gift is upon the express condition, that no part of the said principal sum shall at any time or times be invested in loans to or secured upon any church property of any description, or any property of or belonging to or held by any Board, Corporation or Committee of, or created or appointed by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in the United States of America, or for the administration of any of the religious, charitable or benevolent objects of or connected with said church.
