Daniel J. O’Gara joined the 장로교 재단 on August 30 as Senior Vice President and General Counsel.

As General Counsel, O’Gara provides legal advice and support to the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Trustees, and senior management to ensure that all organizational activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations. He also provides guidance and direction to senior management in the development, promotion, and delivery of the Foundation services in accordance with donor/beneficiary needs and the mission of the 장로교 (미국). As requested by the CEO, O’Gara serves as the senior management liaison in collaborative efforts with client, donors, board committees, and other constituencies to foster better working relationships and to enhance the delivery of products and services.

O’Gara also directs all legal matters in-house and serves as the primary interface between Foundation and any applicable regulators, to ensure compliance with laws and regulations relating to business operations. He engages and manages outside legal counsel in any litigation activity and in the provision of legal advice to the corporation.

O’Gara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in diplomacy and foreign affairs from Miami University (Ohio) and a Juris Doctorate from Loyola University of Chicago. After graduating from law school, he joined Dinsmore & Shohl, a large law firm with more than 700 attorneys in offices all across the United States, in 2011. He was named partner in January 2020.

While serving at Dinsmore & Shohl, O’Gara’s legal work has included complex estate and trust litigation, fiduciary oversight and litigation, as well as employment law. He also has experience with regulatory matters and in church polity matters, for which he has previously represented the Presbyterian Foundation.

O’Gara lives in Louisville with his wife and daughter.
