To provide scholarship aid to any person, member in good standing of a congregation in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), who is preparing for pastoral ministry. The recipient shall be enrolled as a full-time student at Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary and shall be in the basic degree program required for ordination as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Scholarships shall be awarded at the discretion of the Dean of Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary. On a case by case consideration, the Dean of Johnson C. Smith Theological Seminary may use the aforementioned scholarship aid to assist individuals who are seeking advanced degrees, if at the sole discretion of the Dean, it would be helpful to such an individual to the further the pursuit of his or her pastoral ministry. Such decision should be based on such considerations as financial need, academic qualifications, and leadership potential.
