Blessings and Benedictions
Each Sunday, a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) pastor offers a blessing and benediction for the week ahead. We hope that these will inspire you and nurture your faith.

Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Ivan Herman
Hold in your heart the beginning of the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi:
“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.”

Storytelling God, you brought creation into being with a word. Make us faithful and truthful tellers of the narratives of our nation and the accounts of our faith.

Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Jeniffer Rodríguez
Let’s go out with confidence even though we have doubts
Let’s feel accompanied even though we are alone
Let’s feel supported even when sometimes we feel betrayed
Because despite what is happening to us and around us
Jesus walks with us in these turbulent waters

Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Rebecca Mallozzi
May you find rest in whatever way your spirit needs rest. May your community uphold you in that rest and may the community also enrich you in all the ways that will lift you up and help you grow. And may your time in solitude be fruitful.

Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Jeff Sockwell
God is with you, you are never alone. Suffering, loneliness, pain, and grief do not have the last word. Hope comes as sure as the morning light, as welcome as a soft summer rain.

Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Dr. Andy Kort
Psalm 139 is one of my favorite psalms. I love the thought of God knowing me, watching me, and understanding me. It is a great comfort. It is like a warm security blanket. However, there are times when it makes me a little nervous. There are things I think, say, and do that I wish that God wouldn’t see. But the psalm says otherwise.

Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Elizabeth Kanerva
Listen church family and persevere in your faithful cultivation!
Weed and mulch, for what we say and do matters in this world.
Love with compassion and serve with humility and we will bear fruit.

Blessing and Benediction from Rev. Ivan Herman
Rather than letting headlines shape your outlook,
let God’s wisdom shape your path and your purpose,
its yoke is easy and burden light.
Eat it like honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
Its sweetness is good for your soul.
