Bendiciones y benedicciones

Dr. Andy Kort
This time of the year we use the word “hope” with great frequency. Some of us light a candle on the Advent wreath for hope. Children hope to receive certain gifts from a list that has been carefully and thoughtfully crafted. Children are not alone in this, as we hope for things too.

Blessings and Benedictions from Rev. Larissa Kwong Abazia
As inhabitants of these earthly bodies, we do not hide from its temporal form. Yet, too often we find ourselves relying solely on the work of our own hands rather than lifting them up to the One who created them. We confuse busyness with blessedness, forgetting we are children of God simply because you have said it is so. Our bodies were made to worship you, not to labor endlessly.

Bendición de la Rev. Rebecca Mallozzi
Through the prophet Haggai, God sends great encouragement to the people. Yes, things look different. Yes, it doesn’t look like the way it always was. No, we can’t promise that the number of people in your pews will ever be the same. Haggai calls it like it is in verse 3: “How does it look to you now? Is it not in your sight as nothing?”

Bendición de la Rev. Elizabeth Kanerva
What do we do when we fall into the temptation of comparing ourselves to another just to feel good about our lives? Slow down and pause. Take a deep breath and in that quiet space, center yourself back to the core of Jesus’s discipleship teachings: love God and love your neighbor. Then, get up and start again, for every day is a new beginning.
